After an epic Swamp debauch to end all debauchery, the drunken duo give up on alcohol. They are upset when one of their patients has an infection which the 4077 cannot identify. They determine that the 4077 needs an incubator, so they call the Quartermaster. Capt. Sloan is from the 375th QMHQ COMSEAPAC SEOULSEC REPDEP...Hawkeye needs a drink. But, according to Sloan, an incubator is a luxury item. So the drunken duo go on a quest for luxury. They meet inept supply sergeants, hoarder, Major Morris, and the cupidinous Col. Lambert who is willing to give the guys what they want...for $1000 U.S. cash. General Mitchell (the one who investigated Henry) is the next man on the totem pole--he may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but he is honest. And by the end of the meeting, he wants Pierce and McIntyre on spits, roasting. Radar receives a Dear John recording on 45 RPM from his fiancee, Linda Sue. He is so distraught, he cannot eat or sleep and makes hash of the 4077 requisitions and reports. Henry, Hawkeye and Trapper are so concerned, they put Radar through a physical. They quickly learn: Radar has a 1-A body and a 4-F brain. When pretty Lt. Louise Anderson visits the 4077, Radar is smitten. Hawkeye helps Louise unpack to learn about her literary and musical tastes. Hawkeye describes her as highbrow and the guys, together with Father Mulcahy, help Radar brush up on Bach, Tolstoy and Italian classic poets. But not everyone is happy about the mixed (enlisted and officer) romance in the offing; a very nasty Margaret threatens to call Gen. Clayton if Henry does not break them up. Hawkeye wonders how Hotlips would feel if her own romance with Frank was threatened. The hapless Ferret Face is like chloroform in the hands of the masters.
